4th Annual Fall Festival Held at South Haven

South Haven Living Center and its excellent team welcomed in fall with their fourth annual Fall Festival and Fish Fry. Residents, their families, and friends of South Haven all gathered together to celebrate the season. Robert Ohnoutka and friends created the mood for the evening by providing the live polka music. Our gracious fish frying volunteers were again Vic and Bev Riha, Dennis Vanek, Ruth Rodel and Michael Roher all of Omaha. Approximately 160 lbs of fish and 150 lbs of potatoes were fried to a golden brown to feed over 250 people that attended.

The evening continued to have a variety of activities for all ages: dancing, pumpkin decorating, Polka music cotton candy, and sno cones. Residents and their guests were also able to enjoy a trip through the near-by countryside on the hayrack ride provided by Jeff Malousek. From the young (5 weeks) to the young at heart (99 years) everyone enjoyed the hayrack ride after the Fish Fry. The Fall Festival was a huge success and a time of community and exceeding expectations. It was truly a perfect evening and a memorable event for everyone involved!

Guests were encouraged to bring canned food items to donate to the local food bank. As a result 173 items were donated to the Saunders County Food Bank!
