South Haven Living Center Receives Bronze National Quality Award

On November 25, 2014 South Haven Living Center celebrated receiving the Bronze National Quality Award. The Bronze award is the first of three distinctions possible through the National Quality Award program, presented by the American Health Care Association and National Center for Assisted Living (AHCA/NCAL). The program honors centers across the nation that have demonstrated their commitment to improving quality care for seniors.

The program has three levels: Bronze, Silver, and Gold. Centers begin the quality improvement process at the Bronze level, where they develop an organizational profile with essential performance elements such as vision and mission statements and an assessment of customers’ expectations. Bronze applicants must also demonstrate their ability to implement a performance improvement system.

The South Haven team was treated to a 1940’s Hollywood themed party. The red carpet was rolled out and each team member had their star on the walk of fame. While a slideshow highlighting special moments from the last year was played, everyone enjoyed treats from the popcorn bar. Owner of Vetter Senior Living, Jack Vetter, was on hand to congratulate the team. A family photo was taken to commemorate the occasion. In their constant pursuit of Quality Care, South Haven has begun the process of applying for a Silver NHCA Quality Award.
